I'm getting the same error as skralljt;
Code: Select all
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/aldrin/com.py", line 158, in get
    obj = class_(*args,**kwargs)
  File "/usr/local/share/aldrin/components/player.py", line 137, in __init__
    Player.__init__(self, Player.create())
AttributeError: type object 'Player' has no attribute 'create'
:|
All should be set, although with pyzzub install there was a remark "RtAudio reports 0devices found."

The main problem appears to be a conflict with a previously installed version of armstrong.

Command to remove all previously installed versions:
sudo scons -c

and then rebuild and reinstall. Or if that fails try to remove it manually as augias recommended.

RtAudio reporting 0 devices found is when the sound driver is already in use. Close all firefox instances running flash and media players and try again.

With no firefox instances running, python interpreter gives "RtAudio reports -1209415087devices found."

I don't think I've installed armstrong..? But it isn't needed, right? I've also rm -rf'd those dirs couple of times. Done uninstall/reinstall also, but error remains.

That seems like rtaudio doesn't like your system. Try if it works better with jack. I believe audacity uses rtaudio as well, you could check if that works.

Armstrong is the C backend that Aldrin uses to make all the noise. So definitely necessary for it to be installed.

Ah, allright. Thought it was some separate project. :oops:
Well now with armstrong, loading goes much further, but it stops to another error;
Code: Select all
lunar: loading module '/usr/local/lib/zzub/../lunar/fx/bitcrusher/bitcrusher.so'
*** stack smashing detected ***: python terminated
Any ideas on this one?

Heh that's a new one for me. My guess is that the bitcrusher plugin does something weird (bit_bucket that yours?). You can delete it and see if the error persists.

yeah, dunno, it's a really simple plugin dunno how can it possibly do anything weird.
I was meaning to improve it for a long time now though (sound wise)
