No sound in Ubuntu

I've used Victor's PPM to install Aldrin, and everything went great. However, when I import some of the sample songs (like beatz.ccm) and hit play, Aldrin indicates that it is creating sounds, but nothing comes out of my speaker.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I also have an HDA Intel (integrated) soundcard.
In Aldrin I use the first device ("hw:HDA Intel,0"). When I select the same device you are using ("hw:HDA Intel,1") I also can't get any sound out.
Have you tried to select a different device?
