Hello out there. So I'm completely new to Linux but interested in checking out this software. I've got Ubuntu 9.04 running but can't figure out how to install/compile/whatever the software. I see there is a repository for older versions of Linux, would I be better off installing 8.10 and going from there or can I get it running on Jaunty?

Hello and welcome
The packages built for 8.10 most likely won't work on 9.04, but I'll try to update them as soon as possible (hopefully by the end of the week). So just stay tuned, I'll post a link here when done.
As for compilation instructions, I think the most up to date doc is this thread: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8#p427

Didn't work for me though, I get a dialog box error on opening Aldrin:

An exception (AttributeError) occurred.
/usr/local/lib/libzzub.so.0.2.4: undefined symbol: zzub_audiodriver_create_portaudio
